» Chetco to hold reverse mortgage seminar Sept. 17

If you are 62 or older, your home is your primary residence and in good repair and you are looking for money to supplement your retirement, pay off your first mortgage or health care expenses, a reverse mortgage may be what you are looking for.

Chetco Federal Credit Union will hold free reverse mortgage seminars in Bandon for those interested in finding out more.

Susan Lunsford, CFCU Specialized Services Officer, will be presenting two reverse mortgage seminars to the general public on Sept. 22 at The Barn, Bandon’s Conference & Community Center. The first seminar is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m.

Lunsford has been working with reverse mortgages for more than a year and feels they can be a great solution for many people, according to a press release.

“The class will provide information on the five things everyone should know about reverse mortgages,” Lunsford said. “It will also provide a personal tour that will help you and your family travel through this financial puzzle. CFCU’s reverse mortgage program is just one more way we continue to work with and serve our communities from Klamath to Bandon.”

Reservations are needed as space is limited. To register for a seminar, stop by the Bandon branch, 1010 First St. S.E., next to the Bandon Shopping Center, call 347-9155, ext. 1083, or go online to www.chetcofcu.org. CFCU is a community chartered credit union, dedicated to serving members in the communities of Coos and Curry counties and Del Norte County in California. CFCU has provided 51 years of service to more than 31,000 members; with eight primary branch locations as well as 12 youth branches in area schools and $356 million in assets.
