The first of a series of Winemaker Dinners will be held at Old Bandon Golf Links at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 6. The seven-course meal will be prepared by Jesse Skiles, chef of Owen Roe Winery. Cost is $75 per person and reservations are required; seating is limited.
The proposed menu includes terrine and steelhead tartar, served with an Argyle sparkling wine; Dungeness crab and wild mushroom consommé with touches of Asian spice, served with Fausse Piste C’est la Viognier; wild greens with fennel, blood oranges and pork confit, served with Owen Roe Dubrul Riesling 2008; albacore ficelle, syrah poached scallops, foie gras and sunchokes, served with Merriam Pinot Noir 2007 and 2008; Douglas fir raviolette and Oregon black truffle; grilled quail and braised oxtail crepinette with braised root vegetables, served with Fausse Piste Syrah 2008 and JL Chave St. Joseph Offerus 2005; and finishing with cheeses, including Rogue Crater lake blue, River’s Edge chevre, Cougar gold and Juniper Grover Redmundo with accompaniments, served with Owen Roe The Parting Glass.
