Ocean Crest Elementary School honors students who are observed doing something helpful or kind with the monthly “Caught You Being Good” program. During the month, students who are “caught being good” are listed on a slip of paper, which is put into a box at the school office. At the end of the month at the Friday PRIDE assembly, 15 names are chosen from the box and those students are given a golden dollar, a pencil and a certificate. The Bandon Lions Club provides the prizes for the program.
Students caught being good in January are:
• Terrent Chatman for picking up trash and cleaning the room.
• ShiAnne Alonzo for making stars for veterans.
• Alyssa Whitney for helping Ms. Austin with great manners.
• Austin Barker for lining up in a new spot after lunch recess.
• Keeton Jennings for setting up PRIDE equipment.
• Samantha Marsh for sitting quietly while Mr. Sylvester was busy playing guitar at the morning assembly.
• Jacob Garcia for following Mr. Harding’s directions.
• Justin Pease for not having any time-outs in September or October.
• Autumn Davis for being very mature even after her snack was taken.
