Oregon State honor rollLocal students attending Oregon State University have made the honor roll for the fall term 2009. Students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work and receive a 3.5 or better GPA.
Bandon students:
Canada Converse, senior, liberal studies;
Tyler Loustalot, senior, natural resources;
Tyler Park, freshman, exercise and sport science;
Logan Scherer, junior, exercise and sport science;
Marie Sweet, senior, human development and family science;
John Swenson, sophomore, exercise and sport science; and
Annamaria Tadlock, senior, biology.
UCC dean’s honor rollKristina Johnson of Bandon is among the names listed on the dean’s honor roll for the fall 2009 term at Umpqua CommunityCollege. A GPA between 3.50-3.74 is required to be placed on the dean’s honor roll.
New contract in works for college president
Southwestern Oregon Community College’s new president may soon have a new contract.
Southwestern Oregon Community College Board Chairman David Bridgham said a draft is being written right now. He expects to see it in coming weeks.
He noted that Scott, formerly the interim president since October 2008, is continuing to lead the college under her interim contract, which sunsets on June 30. As interim president, she earned $110,000 annually.
