Chad M. Dotson graduated from U.S. Marine Corps boot camp on Jan. 8, at a recruit depot in San Diego. He was in Platoon No. 2127.
He recently visited his mother, Andrea Murphy, in Coquille; his grandfather and grandmother, Bobby and Jackie Dotson; and great-grandparents John and Helen Frost, all of Bandon.
He is now at Camp Pendleton for three weeks of advanced infantry training. From there he will go to Twentynine Palms, Calif., for further training.
