In 1995, he married Carol Swigart of Dallas, Ore. They settled in Dallas until her death, he then returned to the Bandon area in 1997, and lived with his daughter, Sarah and pursued a full-time ministry as one of Jehovah’s witnesses until his death from congestive heart failure in Portland’s Hopewell House Hospice.
